Elsie "Bren" Gray Burke

Elsie (Bren) Gray Burke, age 66, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Bristol Regional Hospital. Bren had worked with numerous manufacturing companies in the area. She was of the Holiness faith, and loved the Lord, and her family. Her pastimes were reading and travelling. 

Bren was predeceased by her parents Clint and Ethel Jordan Burke; sisters Jeannette Cook and Peggy Price; nephews Scott and Richard Burke. She is survived by her sister Maude Booher of Bristol, Va.; brothers George Burke and wife Madge of Lebanon, and Clarence Burke and wife Sarah of Abingdon; niece Kristie Burke, and nephews Jeter Cook and Gary Burke. Bren left these thoughts for her family and friends. “Best family in the world. Blessed life - The Lord has been so good to me. Be good to each other – Live for the Lord, and always do good to others. Meet me in heavan.”  

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 PM with Rev. Jerry Eggers and Pastor Travis Ingle officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Gary Burke, Hank Burke, Jeter Cook, Jerry Booth, Jackie Robinson, Bill Jordan, and Ted Salyers will serve as casket bearers.
