Mr. Thomas Jackson Tate, Jr., age 54, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 in Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Tate was born October 12, 1962 in Abingdon, VA to the late Thomas Jackson Tate, Sr. and the late Peggy Pendergrass Tate. He retired after ten years of service as a Staff Sargent in the United States Air Force. Mr. Tate loved music and enjoyed karaoke.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Hoskins.
Survivers include his wife, Ashley Deidre Tate; daughter, Ashley Nicole Tate of Knoxville, TN; sister; Christi Fowler and husband, Will of Hazel Green, AL; nieces and nephews, Shelby, Brian, Allison, Leslie, Emily, Matthew, Mike, Jack, and Jerermy. Many close friends also survive.
A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2017 in Mount Rose Cemetery, 10069 Crescent Rd. Glade Spring, VA 24340.
All those wishing to attend the service are ask to meet at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service by 1:20 p.m. to go in procession. Military honors will be preformed by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the U.S. Air Force. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 12, 2017 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service from 6 – 8 p.m. Pallbearers will be family and friends. In lieu of flowers contibutions may be made to the D.A.V., P.O. Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
