Clinchburg, VA – Zanic Spencer, age 71, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 17, 2017, in Johnston Memorial Hospital. Zanic enjoyed playing his guitar and singing as well as attending church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Parris Spencer and Ocie Cline Spencer; brothers, Amos, Jordan, and Johnny; and sisters, Mary, Inez, and Alafair.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ruby Goff Spencer; daughters, Tammie Fields of Meadowview, VA and Angela Roberts of Burton, OH; son, Richard Spencer of Meadowview, VA; brothers, Epp (Helen) Spencer and Grant Spencer, both of Meadowview, VA; sister, Kathleen Reedy of Richlands, VA; grandchildren, Josh Fields, Koda Spencer, Ashley Ray, Kendra Compton, J.C. Spencer, Aaron Roberts, and Chavez Spencer; great grandchildren, Teisha Fields, Cheyenne Fields, Emmie Williams, Austin Nunley, Memphis Spencer, KensLeigh Compton, Angel Spencer, and expected great grandson, Timber Spencer; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held 5-7 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2017, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Forest Hills Chapel with Rev. Thomas Prater and Rev. Tracy Puckett officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Josh Fields, Aaron Roberts, Koda Spencer, J.C. Spencer, Chavez Spencer, and Johnny Dotson serving as pallbearers.
