Name: Ruth E. Taylor Roberts Date: December 11th, 2009 Obituary: Ruth E. Taylor Roberts, 89, passed away Friday, December 11, 2009 in the Valley Health Care Center, Chilhowie, VA. She was born in McDowell County, West Virginia and had lived most of her married life in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. She had been a resident of Abingdon,Virginia for the past seven years. She was a member of the Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church and Circle #2, Abingdon, Virginia. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Roberts, brothers, Billy and Charlie, sisters, Lucille and Peggy. Survivors include her sister, Bess Orr, Abingdon, Virginia, several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Margaret Houser. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the Farris Funeral Service, Main Street Chapel with the Reverend Beth Yarborough officiating. Interment will follow later in the week in the Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Point Pleasant, West Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday immediately following the service in the Farris Funeral Home.
