Name: Glen Dora Tidwell Date: December 19th, 2009 Obituary: Glen Dora Tidwell went to be with her loving Savior and family on December 19, 2009. She was born in Morgan County, TN, moved to Martinsville, VA in 1948, then to Abingdon in 1985. She was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church. Survivors include a half brother, Junior Tidwell of Bandy, Virginia; half sisters Karen Bandy of Bandy, VA, Sharon Bandy and husband Tommy of Cedar Bluff, VA, Ethel Jenkins of La Porte, Ind.; a niece and “best buddy” Henrietta Vannoy and husband Raymond;several nieces and nephews, and eleven great, great nieces and nephews who knew her as Granny Glen. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Memories Musoleum on the grounds of Forest Hills Memory Gardens, 19415 Lee Highway with Pastor Stephen Richardson officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Operation Smile, 6435 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, VA 23509 because of her love and passion for children.
