Name: George Frederick Rock Date: February 15th, 2010 Obituary: George Frederick Rock, 81, passed away at his home Monday, February 15, 2010. A son of the late Herbert and Ida Rock, George retired from Flavorich Dairies with 28 years of service and had worked for Big Jack Manufacturing Company. He was also a farmer and an Army Veteran honorably discharged with a Germany Occupation Medal. He was a great husband, dad and grandpa. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Curtis Rock and two sisters, Louise Williams and Margret Mason. Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Joann; seven children, Marty, Steve, Tony, and Dennis Rock, Judy Rock, Kathy Carter, and Denise Burnette; daughters-in-law, Christie Rock, Pam Rock, and Donna Rock; twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a special sister-in-law, Arlene Rock. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 19, 2010 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Max Jackson and Gary Harless officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Bristol with military honors to be conducted. Pallbearers will be James Sandefur, Jacob Sandefur, Matthew Rock, Timothy Burnette, Greg William, Sam Shumate, Jim Edgeworth, Dale Worley and Danny Rock. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Farris Funeral Service.
