He was born on June 29, 1967 in Abingdon, VA to Robert A. “Bob” Sheffey, Jr. and the late Patricia E. Sheffey. He was employed by Commerce Bank in Kansas City, Missouri and was a member of the St. Andrews Episcopal Church. He attended Abingdon High School and the Patterson School in Patterson, NC. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor’s Degree in business. He is survived by his wife, Janet Schaufele Sheffey and daughters, Grace and Ella Sheffey. Also surviving are his father, Robert A. Sheffey, Jr. and wife, Eleanor W. Sheffey of Abingdon; brothers, Robert E. Sheffey and wife, Teresa of Gray, TN, John A. Sheffey and wife, Maria of Bedford, TX and Charles P. Sheffey and wife, Deborah of Johnson City, TN. Funeral services will be held at the St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Kansas City on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with the Fr. John Spicer officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services in the fellowship hall. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Abingdon United Methodist Church in Abingdon, VA.
