Name: Eleanor Elizabeth Harris Robins Date: May 13th, 2010 Obituary: Eleanor Elizabeth Harris Robins, 80 died on May 13, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James Alfred Robins. Eleanor will be remembered by many has a caring nurse who was eager to bring comfort to her patients. She worked many years at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon Virginia. She began her nursing career teaching Pediatrics at the School of Nursing at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Her later years were spent as a cardiac nurse. Eleanor’s greatest passion was her love of her heavenly Father, Jehovah God. On April 25, 1954 she became baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and continued to be a faithful witness up until to her death. She was always eager to share a message of hope and comfort to all. She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Robins and Linda (Scott) Harriger, Abingdon, VA. One brother Jack (Celestine) Harris, Washington D.C., one cousin, Tillie (Roy) Roe, Meadowview, VA, two grandchildren, Jonathan (Veronica) Manili, Nicaragua, and Meghann (Tolani) Harriger Edwards, Medford, MA. A visitation and memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at the SWVA Higher Education Center, Abingdon, VA from 2 – 4 pm. Visitation from 2-3:30; Memorial service at 3:30pm. Tony Salfi, a minister of Jehovah’s Witnesses will officiate. The family appreciates the wonderful care given to our mother by the staff at Valley HealthCare and to her friend, colleague and physician Emory Robinette.
