He was born in Johnson County, TN and was a son of the late Walter and Melissa Arnold Walker. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Moore Walker; a son, Rick Walker; brother, Walter Coy Walker; sisters, Maggie Walker and Cindy Dugger and infant twin sisters. Survivors are his sons, Jimmy Walker and wife, Kelly of Abingdon, Sampson Walker, Chris Walker both of Damascus and Mike Walker of Jonesboro, TN; daughters, Sandy Hand and husband, Terry, Ginger Walker, Cricket Walker all of Damascus, Ashley Walker of Troy, VA and Donna Walker of Jonesboro, TN; brother, Joe Walker of OH; sisters, Dorothy Sweeney and Zella Walker both of Elizabethton and Stella McCoy of Kingsport, TN; 16 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. John E. Massey, Jr. officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Forest Hills Chapel from 10:00 A.M. until 10:50 A.M. Wednesday.
