Aline Combs Greer, age 88, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Wellmont Hospice House. Aline and her late husband, Conley, owned and operated Greer Jewelers in Abingdon for 42 years. She was a member of Abingdon United Methodist Church for many years where she assisted with preparing communion. Mrs. Greer loved traveling and was a member of the Appalachian Hiking Club. She and her husband enjoyed showing horses and were the owners of P & G Stables.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, William and Elnora Martin Combs and siblings Lilly Dedo, Esta Mae Arnold, Herman Combs, Clifford Combs, Leonard Combs, Lewis Combs, Mildred Mason, Wilmetta Latham, Edna Neal, Monroe Combs and Mary Ruth Strong.

She is survived by one sister, Inalee King of Kingsport, TN and numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

Funeral services for Mrs. Greer will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Abingdon United Methodist Church with Rev. Donald Thayer officiating. A private graveside committal service will be held at a later date.

Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 P.M. Thursday at the church prior to the service. Those wishing to express sympathy online may do so by visiting www.farrisfuneralservice.com and signing the online guest register.
