Abingdon, VA - Angelia Kay McKinney Copley, 74, died peacefully at Johnston Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, January 17th, 2017 in Abingdon, Va. following a lengthy illness.

Angie was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Obra McKinney, grandparents, Nannie and Clyde Browning, and a grandson, David Alexander Copley.

Angie is survived by her loving husband and caregiver, Alfred, of Abingdon, Va.; three sons, Mark (Candy) Copley of Salem, Ill., John (Suzanne) Copley of Glen Allen, Va., and David (Michelle) Copley of Summerville, S.C.; two daughters, Trina (Chris) Rowe of Bristol, Va. and Amber Copley of Atlanta, Ga.; seven grandchildren: Jonathan (Caitlin) Copley of Chesapeake, Va., Bethany (Ian) Littlejohn of Casey, Ill., Megan Copley of Summerville, S.C., Chelsea Copley of Summerville, S.C., Holden Rowe of Bristol, Va., Sarah Copley of Glen Allen, Va., and Blakely Rowe of Bristol, Va.; and two great grandchildren: Camdyn Copley of Summerville, S.C. and Harper Littlejohn of Casey, Ill..

Angie was born in Barnabus, West Virginia, in 1942. She graduated from Logan Senior High School in Logan, West Virginia, in 1960 and married her high school sweetheart that year. She made her home for 54 years in Abingdon. She was a loving wife, mother, homemaker, and employed by Washington County Schools for 26 years. Angie loved spending time with her family and friends. She was gifted in hospitality and always cooked meals for everyone who visited her home. Angie was of the Christian faith and a member of Abingdon Church of the Nazarene.

A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA, with graveside services immediately following. Her son, Pastor Mark Copley, and Pastor Wayne Wilson will officiate the ceremony. Pallbearers will be Bob Williams, Jonathan Copley, Chris Rowe, Holden Rowe, Ian Littlejohn, Kush Mirani, and Al Batiz. The family will receive family and friends on Friday at the Forest Hills Chapel from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Abingdon Church of the Nazarene, World Evangelism Fund, 396 Old Eleven Court, Abingdon, VA 24210.
