Anthony Eugene "Tony" Martin, age 48, went to be with the Lord while visiting his parents in Abingdon, VA on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Tony was born in Clintwood, VA on May 14, 1965 to Earnest and Nina Martin and was an employee at Greene Valley Development Center.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 17 years, Karen Vess Martin.
Survivors include his parents, Earnest and Nina Martin of Abingdon, VA; Son, Riley Baxter-Martin; three sisters, Marlene (Dale) Reedy of Abingdon, VA, Samantha (Paul) Evans of Abingdon, VA, and Kim (Tracy Harless) Wise of Bristol, VA; special aunts, Wilma and Anna; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Charles Sherfey officiating. Visitation with the family will be held 6-7:30 p.m. prior to the service. It was Mr. Martin's wish to be cremated following the service.
