Bristol, VA Master Sergeant Arthur P. Price, United States Marine Corps, Retired, age 84, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Arthur retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Marine Corps after serving one tour of duty in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. After his retirement, he worked for Paty Lumber Company and Grand Home Furnishings. Arthur was a member of V.F.W. Post 1994 in Abingdon, VA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther Price and Bessie Helton Neal; wife, Frances Prater Diviak Price; son, Gary Price; three brothers, Howard, George, and Clyde Price; and sister, Virginia Halvorson.
He is survived by one son, Larry Price of Bristol, VA; four daughters, Barbara (William) Uhl of Bristol, TN, Mary Jo (Michael) Gibson of Bristol, VA, Judy Blevins of Bristol, TN, and Angela (Ricky) Hughes of Abingdon, VA; two sisters, Margie Cable and Marie Hutchens, both of Blountville, TN; step son, Bill (Monica) Diviak of Bristol, TN; and was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2016, at Reynolds Memorial United Methodist Church, 327 West Mary Street, Bristol, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Church with Pastor David Gibson and Rev. Laura Plaster officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with military rites provided by the United States Marine Corps.
