Beulah "Boo" Bandy Necessary

February 20, 1938 — February 19, 2021

Beulah "Boo" Bandy Necessary, of Bristol, Va., one day short of age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, February 19, 2021, after a brave fight with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease).  She was a 1956 graduate Tazewell High School and a member of the East Bristol Church of Christ for over 50 years.  She was born February 20 ,1938, in Dix Creek, Va. a daughter of the late James G. Bandy and Annie Ruth Marrs Bandy.  

In her early years she worked in the office of J.C. Penny.  After caring for her own children, Beulah cared for granddaughters, Tiffany and Sydney.  She worked as clerk for Suburban Shoe Center for over 25 years.   

Those left to mourn her passing are her husband of 63 years, Don A. Necessary, Sr.; son, D.A. "Donny" A. Necessary, Jr. and wife, Teresa, of Piney Flats, Tenn.; two daughters, Julia N. Hayter and husband, William "Bill", of Abingdon, Va. and  Patty N. Turner and husband, Vince, of Bristol, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Tiffany N. Jenkins and husband, Jacob, of Hampton, Tenn.; Sydney K. Bell of Blacksburg, Va.; and Lauren E. Turner of Knoxville, Tenn.; great granddaughter, Riley M. Jenkins of Hampton, Tenn.; five sisters:  Maggie Ruble of Bristol, Va.; Shirley Hart of North Tazewell, Va.; Cora Martin and Gerald Whitt and husband, Robert, all of Madison Heights, Va.; and Kathleen Boyd and husband, Glenn, of Lexington, N.C.; brother, Donald W. Bandy and wife, Claudine, of North Tazewell, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.    

A funeral ceremony will be livestreamed on Monday, February 22, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. from the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Minister Floyd Bailey and Minister Tim Ruble officiating.  The service may be livestreamed by visiting https://www.farrisfuneralservice.com/services/live-stream.  A committal service will follow at High Point Presbyterian Church Cemetery where Eddie McGuire, Lewis McReynolds, Marion Warner, Bill Merritt, Dwayne Barrett, and Mike Branham will serve as pallbearers.  Ron Thompson, John Boggess, Don Lee, Joseph Necessary, Jr., Robert Whitt, Gus Necessary, Ron Shockley, and Glenn Boyd will serve as honorary pallbearers.  Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 p.m.- 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.   

Masks will be required for attendance and social distancing practices will be implemented in accordance with Covid-19 restrictions.   

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Tazewell High School Hall of Fame Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 255, Tazewell, Va. 24651, or the East Bristol Church of Christ, 340 Bonham Rd., Bristol, Va. 24201.   

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Kindred Hospice as well as caregivers, Jennifer, Connie, Cori, Janet, Tara, and Mina that graced our home.
