Billie Patricia Knight, age 84, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was a member Valley Street Baptist Church.
She was born to the late James Ray Morton and Edith Bailey Morton. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Paul Knight; daughter, Lisa Knight; grandson, Samuel Knight, Jr.; three brothers, Robert Morton, Charles Morton, and James Morton; and a sister, Geraldine Morton.
She is survived by three sons, Samuel Knight, Sr. of Lakeland, FL, Steven P. Knight of Indianapolis, IN, Dwayne Knight and wife Johnice of Albuquerque, NM; ten grandchildren, Katrina Knight, Jennell Smith, Daniel Knight, Steven P. Knight, II, Zachary Knight, Antonia Ferguson, Marcus Knight, Joshua Knight, Johnathan Knight, and Matthew Knight; and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor William A. Austin officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Albert Arnold, Michael Austin, Philip Ellis, Frank Foster, Sterling Foster, Ronald Heath, Mike Jones, and Matt Smith will serve as pallbearers. Mose Hammer will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lemuel Wheeler, Frank and Nellie Foster, Reverend Buddy McDaniels, and numerous friends.
