Billy John Steffey

Billy John Steffey, age 85, of Sallisaw, Okla. passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019, in Ft. Smith, Ark.  He was born on March 7, 1933, in Wideners Valley, Va. to the late Lucy Widener Steffey and Hyden Charles Steffey.  He married Eldeva Hobby Steffey on May 28, 1961, in Blanding, Utah.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy, lineman, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Sallisaw, Okla.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Steffey was also preceded in death by two brothers, Tony Michael Steffey and Charles Bud Steffey. 

He is survived by his wife, Eldeva, of the home; two daughters, Rhonda Woodward and husband, James, of Greer, S.C. and Martha Jacob and husband, John, of Hollis, N.H.; son, John Steffey and wife, Andrea, of Owasso, Okla.; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at Wideners Valley Cemetery on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. with military honors provided by the United States Navy.  Visitation will be at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service on Friday, January 18, 2019, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
