Billy Ray Poole Sr.

Billy Ray Poole, Sr., age 78 and lifelong resident of Washington County, passed on Friday, January 31, 2014, at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Clintwood, VA. Billy was a U.S. Army Veteran and a life member of the Washington County Life Saving Crew. He is preceded in death by his parents, Columbus and Elizabeth Poole; wife, Gladys Widner Poole; two brothers; and one sister.

He is survived by his daughter, Robin Grubb and husband Ronald J. "Bones" of Abingdon, VA.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Knollkreg Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. John E. Massey, Jr. officiating.

Visitation with the family will be held 1:00-2:15 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the Main Street Location of Farris Funeral Service. Family and friends who wish to travel in procession to the cemetery are asked to convene at the funeral home by 2:15 p.m.
