Brenda Fuqua Benson, 44, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010 due to a massive heart attack.
She was born July 2, 1966 in Abingdon to the late Edward Fuqua and Mary Ann Fuqua Bowers. Brenda was always very talented and she used her gifts by being active in her church and her community and touching the lives of friends and family near her. She was an outstanding mother, daughter, sister and aunt with a big heart and was a loving friend to everyone. Brenda worked for AT&T Communications and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Bristol, VA. Those who knew her will miss her dearly.
In addition to her father she is preceded in death by an aunt, Verna Fullen.
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Mary Ann Fuqua Bowers and husband, Joe of Abingdon; her daughter, Keyonna Benson; sister, Angela Fuqua Norman of Cincinnati, OH; brother, Edward Fuqua of Abingdon; nieces, Ashley and Mariah Norman; nephews, Isiah Fuqua, Justin Fuqua and Chris Runyon; aunt, Janet Fuqua; uncle, Joe Fuqua; great uncle, Tom Fuqua and wife, Janet and many other cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Brenda Fuqua Benson will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 12, 2010 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. William J. Reid officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon.
The family will be receiving friends at Farris Funeral Service on Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
