Brenda Nell Wilson

Mrs. Brenda Wilson, 70, went to be with her Lord on June 1, 2017. She was surrounded by her loving family. Brenda was a lifelong resident of the Emory Gates area. She was a loving wife to her husband Robert Wilson until his passing on December 18, 2007.

Brenda loved the Lord and her family. She was known to many as “Nanny” and never met someone she could not befriend. She would help anyone with anything, many times putting others before herself. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Nanny during our time with her among us: love and follow the Lord, never pass up a trip to anywhere, laugh often, and always stay humble and kind.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Teresa Cannon and husband Craig, and her son Bobby Wilson and wife Sharon. She has five grandchildren: Miranda and husband Cody, Justin, Josh and wife Ashley, Kristie, and Rachel. She has one great-grandson Landen, one great-granddaughter Cydney, and one future great-granddaughter Cora Lily.

A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Holston Conference United Methodist Cemetery with Pastor Dwayne Dillard and Pastor Warren Wilson officiating. Pallbearers will be Cody Johnson, Craig Cannon, Rusty Cozart, Landen Johnson, Justin Wilson, and Josh Gobble.

The family wishes to express appreciation to everyone for their prayers and kind words. The family would also like to thank the staff at Caris Healthcare and Wellmont Medical Associates Oncology of Bristol for their compassionate care.
