Catherine "Catie" Ellen Coulthard

Catherine Catie Ellen Coulthard was released from the pains of a three year battle with cancer on August 17, 2016. Catie was the daughter of Anita and Harold Coulthard, niece to four wonderful aunts and uncles, sister to Jon Coulthard and his wife Grace, aunt to Oliver, mother to Chloe Coulthard and Tyler House, and a loving and devoted wife to Gabriela Serna.

Catie graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1991 and then attended Highlands Community College, Elon University, and Emory Henry College - all in pursuit of a creative writing degree. She never finished a degree at any of the higher education institutions she attended because she put her family first and became a caretaker for her grandparents Fay Etta and Harvey Coulthard.

She was an incredibly talented musician and lover of fine arts. She loved life, family, friends, and anyone who would have deep conversations about spirituality and the power of love. Catie was an example of the beauty of individuality and how to best live life to its fullest. She taught everyone she came into contact with how bright the beautiful journey of life can be. Words will never be able to express how dear to our hearts she was and continues to be, nor how greatly she will be missed.

The memorial service for Catie Coulthard will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016, at the Emory United Methodist Church, and the family will visit with friends following the service.
