Cathy B. South, “Grandmother”, age 91, of Abingdon, Va., peacefully went Home Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the home of her daughter, Barbara Rock. Cathy worked and retired from Harwood Manufacturing. She was of the Christian faith and lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They always knew how to put a smile on her face.
Cathy was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Paul South; three brothers, Martin T. Roark, George Roark, James Roark; 3 sisters, Goldie Bailey, Mary South, Juanita Thomas.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Rock and husband Terry; Grandchildren, The Golden Child- Jamie Rock, Brandy Rock and husband James; one granddaughter-in-law, Kelly Rock; great grandchildren, Sage Rock, Britton Rock, and Celeste Rock; one sister, Doris Statzer, all of Abingdon, Va.; and many special nieces and nephews. All of whom will cherish her memory forever.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Burial will follow at Knollkreg Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jamie Rock, Sage Rock, Terrance Rock, James Burchett, Jimbo Crusenberry, and Chad Dickey. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
