Cecil Bernard Corvin, 78, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He retired from Gulfstream Aerospace and was a member of the Blackwell Chapel United Methodist Church. Cecil loved spending his winters in Florida and settling in with a good book.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Mary Ella Corvin; and sisters Charlene Shelton, Faye Crockett, and Doris Prizznick.
Cecil is survived by his wife of 55 years, Becky; son Justin and wife Becky of Pembroke, Ga.; daughter Tonya Graham and husband Mark of Abingdon; brothers Preston Corvin and wife Nancy of Marion, Va. and Eddie Corvin and wife Lynne of Richmond, Texas; and grandchildren Colin Graham, Cameron Rivers, Brent Corvin, and Jase Corvin.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service (19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon) with Rev. Steve Castle officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142,Memphis, TN 38148-0142 (www.stjude.org).
