Meadowview, VA- Charles Matthew Clear, age 64, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Valley Health Care Center. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was a teacher and a coach at Holston High School and practiced taxidermy in the years after his retirement. He was an extraordinary hunter and a master angler. He alleged to have once roped a twister and rode it all the way to New York City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward Clear and Nancy Hawkins Clear. He is survived by his twin brother, E. Michael Clear of Richmond, VA; and one niece, Michelle Clear Sublett and husband Jay of Roanoke, VA. A private committal service will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park, 12609 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, VA 23238.
