Mr. Charlie Robert Duff, 91, passed Saturday, July 24, 2010 in the Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of the Abingdon First Assembly of God Church and was a Veteran of the U.S Army Air Force having served in Okinawa, Japan during World War II.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Leona Shepherd Duff.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Duff, Glade Spring, VA, his daughters, Norma Maloyed, Charlotte, NC, Freida Harris and husband Douglas and Leisa Thompson and husband Otis all of Glade Spring, VA, his brothers, Ernest Leroy Duff, Abingdon, VA and Graham Duff, Nashville, TN, his grandchildren, Jenny Feeny and Kimberly Andrews both of Saltville, VA, Wesley Harris and Ashley Harris both of Knoxville, TN, Shannon Thompson, Nyack, NY, Brandon Thompson, Meadowview, VA, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The funeral service will be conducted Monday, July 26, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA with Pastor Roger Williams officiating.
The committal service will be conducted Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 11:00 in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor William Spann officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the Highlands Fellowship Honor Guard.
Those attending on Tuesday are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 10:55 a.m.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 26, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
