Clara Novella Reed Alley, ago 80, passed away on Friday December 25, 2015 at the home of her daughter. She was born in Richlands, but had spent most of her life in Abingdon. Novella was a homemaker and loved caring for her children and family. She was a long time member of the Free Pentecostal Assembly, where she loved to attend. Novella enjoyed travelling and her favorite place to visit was Gatlinburg.
Mrs. Alley was predeceased by her first husband Worley Reed and her second husband Ralph Alley; her parents Zeb and Ella Pearl Lowe Osborne; also by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Novella is survived by 2 sons David Reed and wife Patty and Billy Reed and wife Ginger both of Abingdon, daughter Sharon McCracken and husband Charlie of Abingdon, stepson Tim Alley and wife Ellen of Lebanon; 4 sisters Pat Lowe and husband Eddie of Richlands, Darva Clifton and husband Guster of Grundy, Ella Mae Johnson of Bristol, VA, and Lovada Cooper of Abingdon; grandchildren Brian Reed, Amanda Childress and David Reed, Jr.; great grandchildren Brooklynn, Makailynn and Bryson Reed, Taylor and Abby Childress, Emma and Noah Reed.
A funeral service for Clara Novella Reed Alley will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday December 29, 2015 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Paul Stanley and Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Brian Reed, David Reed, Jr., Travis Childress, Stafford Statzer, Charlie McCracken, and Tim Alley will serve as pall bearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM 8:00 PM on Monday December 28, 2015 at the funeral home.
