Coborn Cole

Swords Creek, VA – Coborn Cole, age 74, passed away on Sunday, March 08, 2015, at his home. He was born to the late Leander Wilbur Cole and Rosa Lee Owens Cole on December 4, 1940 in Harlan, KY. Coborn served as a superintendant for both Centennial Construction Company and Island Creek Coal Company. His hobbies included oil painting and rebuilding cars. He was a devout Pittsburg Steelers fan. In addition to his parents, Coborn was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Shelby Jean Dean Cole. He is survived by his son, Rodney Cole and girlfriend Brenda Evans of Swords Creek, VA; daughter, Caroline Cole Blevins and husband Darrin of Abingdon, VA; two brothers, Johnny Cole and wife Linda of Rockville, IN and Sam Cole and wife Debra of Rogersville, TN; two sisters, Mildred Merritt and husband Urcel of Elkart, IN and Della Mae Brock and husband Roger of Sacramento, CA; five grandchildren, Jessee Leeander Cole, Sarah Annette Turner, Eric Scott Cantrell, Daniel Cory Cantrell, and Jonathan Brett Sword; three step-grandchildren, Dylan McLin Reed Blevins, William Russell Finley Blevins, and Alden Joseph Rolfe Blevins; and four great grandchildren, Lillian Grace Cantrell, Kaylee Nicole Cantrell, Baylee Elizabeth Cantrell, and Roxus Godrick Crawford. Visitation will be from 2:00p.m.-2:45p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A graveside service will be held at 3:00p.m. Wednesday at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with the Reverend John E. Massey, Jr. officiating. Pallbearers will be Alden Joseph Rolfe Blevins, Darrin Blevins, William Russell Finley Blevins, Daniel Cory Cantrell, Eric Scott Cantrell, Dylan McLin Reed Blevins, and Jonathan Brett Sword.
