Dale Howard Thomas Sr.

Dale Howard Thomas, Sr., age 78, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.
He was born to the late Ernest Howard Taft Thomas and Myrtle Cumbo Thomas on June 6, 1934 in Washington County, VA. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Hulen William Thomas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary T. Thomas; son, Dale Howard Thomas, Jr. of the home; five daughters, Connie Mabe and husband Robert of Abingdon, VA, Joyce Sullins of Abingdon, VA, Darlene Howell of the home, Robin Thomas of the home, and Libby Carnell and husband Daniel of Abingdon, VA; brother, Dewey James Thomas and wife Tippy of Kingsport, TN; seven grandchildren, Natasha Trent and husband Josh of Bristol, VA, Bradley Sullins and wife Joni of Abingdon, VA, Kregg Mabe and wife Melissa of Bristol, TN, Jayna Dunn and husband Jason of Abingdon, VA, Kalan Mabe of Abingdon, John Howell of Abingdon, VA and Ashleigh Carnell of Abingdon, VA; great grandchild, Ryan Trent; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friend, Ed Wrenn.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Roger Ewing and Pastor Darrell Martin officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Jason Dunn, John Howell, Kalan Mabe, Kregg Mabe, Bradley Sullins, Ernie Thomas, and Josh Trent will serve as pallbearers. Joe Thomas will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Flowers will be accepted.
