Dallas Cecil McFaddin

Bristol, TN Dallas Cecil McFaddin, age 79, passed on Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Elmcroft Assisted Living in Kingsport, TN. Dallas was raised in Dunbar, VA by the late Charlie Scott Sox McFadden and Lucy Meade McFadden and moved to Bristol in the early 1960s. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served aboard the MSO-423 U.S.S. Avenge during the Korean War. Dallas worked in the trucking industry as a Teamster member and attended Walnut Hill Presbyterian Church. Dallas was an avid sportsman, enjoying motorcycle racing, boxing, hunting, fishing, and golfing. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and their activities. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie Scott C.J. McFadden, Billy Lee McFadden, and Harvey Gene McFadden.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Galliher McFaddin; son, Herbert Scott McFaddin of Yorktown Heights, NY; daughters, Pamela Susan Williams and husband Carl of Blountville, TN, Kelly Marie Kirby and husband Aaron of Knoxville, TN, and Jennifer Dawn Fuller and husband Brian of Lebanon, TN; brother, Troy Leeman McFadden of Bristol, VA; eight grandchildren, Mary Williams, Abbey Williams, Ben Williams, Austin Kirby, Luke Kirby, Macy Kirby, Braden Fuller, and Bryce Fuller; and his loyal dog, Boots.

Visitation with the family will be held 1-3 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2016, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Andy Moehn officiating. Grandsons and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. Military Rites will be conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the U.S. Navy.
