Dana Easterly Kimberlin Farmer

Abingdon, VA Dana Easterly Kimberlin Farmer, age 80, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at her home. She was born the 6th child of the late Con C. Easterly and Sadie Robinson Easterly on May 9, 1934 in Russell County, VA. She was employed by Harwood Manufacturing Company for 34 years serving as a seamstress and eventually becoming a Supervisor. While employed at Harwood, Dana began working as a Displayer for Home Interiors and Gifts and later became a Unit Manager. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and worked at the Hampton Inn of Abingdon as a Breakfast Hostess as long as her health permitted. In addition to her careers, Dana was an accomplished homemaker who loved to decorate, serve meals to her family, and garden in her greenhouse. In addition to her parents, Dana was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Ralph J. Kimberlin; and four brothers, Cecil, John, Charlie, and William Ed Easterly. Dana is survived by her husband of 10 years, Donald K. Farmer; daughter, Peggy K. Morrison and husband George of Smith Mountain Lake, VA; brother, Jake Easterly and wife Betty of Lebanon, VA; sister, Helen Farmer of Abingdon, VA; two sisters-in-law, Stella Easterly of Lebanon, VA and Polly Lester and husband Paul of Jonesville, VA; four step-children: Ken Farmer and wife Lisa; Denny Farmer and wife Pat; Cindy Farmer, and Saundra Farmer, all of Abingdon, VA; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral ceremony will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Chad Johnson officiating. The committal service will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Family and friends who wish to attend the committal service are asked to convene at the funeral home by 11:30 a.m. Wednesday to travel in procession to the cemetery. Randy Doss, Darrell Dyson, Lee Crabtree, Joe Owens, Brad Stiltner, Ralph Jones, Garry McCormick, and Roy Campbell will serve as pallbearers. The Adult Sunday School Class of Fellowship Baptist Church, Paul Lester, John Long, David Atkins, Laban Farmer and Hunter Atkins will serve as honorary pallbearers.
