Saltville, VA – Daniel Eugene Potter, Sr., age 76 and of the Hayter’s Gap Community, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Daniel and his family lived in Maryland many years before moving to Virginia in 1986 where he became a life member of Valley Rescue Squad.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. and Anna Mae Cloud Potter; daughter, Donna Marie Potter; brothers, Carlisle Potter and Kenneth Potter; and sister, Carol Major.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Rosemary Lyons Potter; sons, Daniel Eugene Potter, Jr. and Christopher Scott Potter; daughters, Michele Lynn Davis, Rose Marie Tome, and Mary Laurie Fraysier; brother, Charles Morris; sister, Cindi Shire; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Oscar Roark officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
