Daniel Howard "Danny" Thayer

Abingdon, VA – Daniel Howard “Danny” Thayer, age 59, passed on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Danny was an employee of Surface Banana for many years and enjoyed farming and gardening. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Howard Thayer and Blanche Selfe Thayer, and brother, William C. “Billy” Thayer.

He is survived by four sisters, Delores (Kim) Coe of Abingdon, VA, Polly Thayer of Bristol, VA; Teresa (Ronnie) Emerson of Bristol, VA, and Becky (Cleve) Ingle of Damascus, VA; two brothers, Jamerson Thayer of Abingdon, VA and Bobby (Anita) Thayer of Abingdon, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Ethan Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View United Methodist Church Cemetery with Cleve Ingle, Kim Coe, Ronnie Emerson, Shane Thayer, Hunter Thayer, Drew Miller, Shawn Miller, and Tim Belcher serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Atkins, Jennifer Belcher, Crystal Miller, April Atkins, Kelcey Thayer, and Alexis Thayer.
