Darrel Ray Hart, age 83, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 24, 2019 in his home, with his wife holding his hand.
Darrel was born January 30, 1935 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Onnie Ray Hart and the late Opal Blanche Perry Hart. He attended Glade Spring Church of God and loved to spend time with his wife and family and also loved to fish. Darrel was a retired farmer.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers.
Darrel is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Letha Hart; two sons, Lillard Ray Hart and Michael Lane Hart; three daughters, Linda Montgomery and husband Mike, Mary Ann Russell, and Kimberly Widner; two sisters, Martha Gullion and husband Dennis and Mary Conner; grandchildren, Katlyn Russell, Brantlee Widner, Elizabeth Russell, Blake Hicks, and Kayden Hart; great-grandchildren, Elijah and Bradley Davis; several nieces, nephews and many people who called Darrel “Paw -Paw”.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm February 3, 2019 at Glade Spring Church of God with Pator James Walls officiating.
