David Gary Boyd

David Gary Boyd, age 81, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was born April 26, 1936, to the late King Matthew Boyd and Annie Belle Pope Boyd. He was of the Methodist faith and was employed as a social worker for the Essex County Wellfare Board in New Jersey.
In addition to his parents, David was also preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Pope.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Lynne Brinkley; granddaughter, Bethany Noelle Brinkley both of Knoxville, Tenn.; niece, Marcie Barnes of Abingdon, Va.; and several cousins also survive.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
