Glade Spring, VA – Della Carolyn Davidson Smith, age 79, passed on Sunday, December 18, 2016, at Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie. Della was a graduate of Richlands High School and worked as a seamstress for many years. She was a member of Jehovah’s Witness Kingdon Hall in Meadowview, VA.
Della is preceded in death by her parents, George Washington Davidson and Myrtle Asbury Davidson; brothers, Jude Davidson, Clinton “Buddy” Caudill, Donald Davidson, Carl Davidson, Edward Davidson, Roy Davidson, Ronald Davidson, and Jimmy Davidson; and sisters, Irene Goad, Phyllis Beavers, Maxine Harrison, Brenda Roop, and Geraldine Michaelman.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Carl Smith; daughter, Linda Stull and husband Lee of Glade Spring, VA; brother, Willis Davidson of Greensboro, NC; sister, Betty Bailey and husband Vernie of Greensboro, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2016, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in Meadowview, VA with Elder Don Lancaster officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall, 29276 Lee Highway, Meadowview, VA 24361, in Mrs. Smith’s name. Those wishing to express sympathy online may do so by visiting www.farrisfuneralservice.com and signing the online guest register.
