Della Virginia Eskridge, 87, of Abingdon, VA went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 20, 2011.
Della was born to the late Thomas and Laura Reed and was the widow of her husband of 65 years, Herbert Eskridge. She attended Sutherland Community Church in Shady Valley, TN. Della was preceded in death by her sister Ethel Stuart and a special son in law, Thomas D. Wright.. She loved flower gardening and her children.
She is survived by four daughters, Imojean Johnson of Deale, MD, Peggy Harless of Abingdon, VA, Retha Vernon of Bristol, TN, and Susan Wright of Shady Valley, TN; two special son in laws, Carl Johnson and David Wright; one brother, Gilford "Bud" Reed and his wife JoAnne of Damascus, VA; also surviving her are five grandchildren, six great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Mack Harr officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. prior to the service at the Forest Hills Chapel.
