Dennis R. Clark

Meadowview, VA- Dennis Ray Clark, age 57, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was born in Russell County, VA on September 2, 1957 the first of seven children born to Buster Clark and Betty Alexander Clark. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Marshall; brother, Gary Clark; and nephew, Allen Clark. In addition to his parents, Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Carolyn Mabe Clark; four children: Mara Salyer and husband Brad of Meadowview, VA; Ryan Clark and fiancé Daniele of Meadowview, VA; Chad Clark and girlfriend Guanita of Abingdon, VA; and Erika Clark of Abingdon; two step-children, Jeffrey Stout and wife Lisa of Kingsport, TN and Jonathan Stout and wife Shannon of Mountain City, TN; brother, Randy Clark and wife Donna of Meadowview, VA; twin sisters, Linda Musser and husband Dee of Blountville, TN and Brenda Bouton of Bristol, VA; sister, Lisa Bushong and husband Mark of Bristol, VA; one grandchild; 10 step-grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. After graduating Lebanon High School, Dennis worked in his father’s electrical business for twelve years, then started his own electrical contracting company CBEC Inc., working primarily in the coal industry for 25 years. He attended Impact Church of Bristol, VA and also was co-pastor and active part of Mantle of Praise Media Ministries in Meadowview VA. Dennis was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, taking an active interest in all their lives. He had a very special bond with his little granddaughter, Melanie. He left an imprint on everyone he knew. Dennis enjoyed reading the Bible, watching movies and Christian television, and most of the news programs. He loved spending time with his family, outdoor activities, and family vacations. He taught Sunday School and performed numerous jobs in the church. Being a man of Faith, Dennis tried to live what he believed, and never turned away those in need. He loved to joke around, and always had a positive attitude. He left a big hole in the hearts of those who loved him, but we are rejoicing that he is walking the Streets of Gold, and we will see him again. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015 at The Mantle of Praise Ministries in Meadowview, VA. A funeral ceremony will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday at the church with Dr. Jeffrey Stout officiating. A committal service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5th at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with the Rev. Tim Norris officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy Clark Jr., Brandon Clark, Cody Musser, Christopher Stout, Bobby Reece, and Marcus Meadows. Those wishing to travel in procession to the cemetery are asked to meet at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service by 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
