Denny Darold Hill

Glade Spring, VA- Denny Darold Hill, age 85, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at his home. He was born the fifth child of the late Denny Sanford Hill and Celeste Illa Hill on June 6, 1929. Denny worked on a dairy farm and as a barber prior to becoming a truck driver. He retired from Signal Delivery after 28 years of service and was a member of the First Church of God of Chilhowie, VA. In addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Emma Joyce Beckner Hill; and seven siblings. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Lucille Workman Hill; two sons, Bruce Hill of Meadowview, VA and Keith Hill of Bunker Hill, IL; two daughters, Diane Hill McGinness and husband Steve of Edwardsville, IL and Wanda Seals and husband Phillip of Big Stone Gap, VA; step-son, Douglas Thomas and wife Billie of Clintonville, WV; step-daughter, Michelle Curry and husband Matt of Lewisburg, WV; two brothers, Tom Hill of New Mexico and Larry Hill and wife Patsy of Dublin, VA; sister, Barbara Hines of Salem, VA; sister-in-law, Ruth Hill of Blue Ridge, VA; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Bobby W. Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at the Old Glade Presbyterian Cemetery.
