Diana Elizabeth Shotynski, age 54 and of the Hayter's Gap community, passed on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at Abingdon Health and Rehab Center. Diana was born and raised in the Philadelphia, PA area and moved to Abingdon 20 years ago where she worked as a water purification engineer. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
She is survived by her mother, Delores Shotynski of Jamison, PA; boyfriend of 18 years, Robert Walden of Saltville, VA; brother, Mike Shotynski of Jamison, PA; three sisters, Karen Lin of Lewisburg, PA, Lisa Ponpnpe of Jamison, PA, and Patricia Villanis of Bristol, PA.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 11, 2013, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Clark Powers officiating. Pallbearers will be James Blevins, Thomas Blevins, Elvis Blevins, Robert Walden, Kevin Chaffin and Mike Sadler.
Visitation with the family will be held 12:00- 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Family and friends who wish to travel in procession to the cemetery are asked to convene at the funeral home by 1:30 p.m.
