Don Ellis Price, age 79, passed away at his home on Saturday April 15, 2017 after an extended illness. Don was a native of Abingdon and a graduate of Bethel High School. He spent most of his working life in the family electrical business. Don was of the Baptist Faith, and when his illness prevented him from attending church, he spent hours studying the Bible and sharing his faith with others. His love of farming and his cows was only upstaged by his love of the Lord and his family.
Don was predeceased by his parents Henry S. and Dorothy Orfield Price and granddaughter Tanya Dionne Meade. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Lois Caldwell Price; daughters Patricia Diana Meade and Deborah Gwen “Debbie” Price both of Abingdon, brothers David and wife Chris, Wayne and wife Barbara, Dean and wife Rita, Ricky and wife Donna, Bobby and Jerry all of Abingdon, sister Sue Leonard and husband Larry of Mississippi; grandchildren William Bradley Rasnake of Abingdon and MSgt. Melinda D. Wilborn and husband Cory, USAF Japan; great grandchildren Dallas Keith “Trey” Hodge, III, Donald Andrew Moore, Elyssa Hayden Wilborn and Harlie Dionne Wilborn.
A funeral service for Don Ellis Price will be held at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service on Wednesday April 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jerry Fritz officiating. Interment will follow at Knollkreg Memorial Park where Bradley Rasnake, Trey Hodge, Donnie Moore, Wayne Campbell, Robby Price and Danny Price will serve as casket bearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Tuesday April 18, 2017.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Grat Correll and the nurses and staff of Wellmont Hospice for the care and love shown to Don during his time of sickness.
