Abingdon, VA – Donald (Wayne) Leland, slipped quietly into the arms of Jesus on Monday, January 30, 2017. Wayne was born on November 29, 1957, in Nashville, TN. He was an avid fisherman who loved to share his passion of the outdoors with his sons.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary; sons, Nathaniel and wife Betty, and Joshua and wife Holly; seven grandchildren; and his lap cats, Onyx and Wuzzy.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2017, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA. A reception will follow the service.
The family expresses their deep appreciation to his new friends, Jessica, Kim, Dickie, Tracy, Brandy, and all the ladies at the infusion clinic who made this journey personal. The family would also like to extend special thanks to their neighbors on Fortunes Way. The love we received was an amazing blessing as were his family at Dominion Virginia Power, especially Denise, Ben, and his favorite “boss”, Karen.
