Dora Lee Brown

Dora Lee Brown, age 78, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord at 5:33 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017, at her home. She was of the Pentecostal Faith and attended Friends Fellowship Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Newton “Ben” Rosenbaum and Olivene Doss Schaffer; husband, Charlie William Brown, Sr.; daughter, Reginia Ann Keys; daughter-in-law, Sandy Brown; two brothers, Benny Rosenbaum and Jimmy Rosenbaum; sister, Elizabeth Hamm; and two half-sisters, Joyce Casey and Helen.

Dora is survived by five sons: Richard Allen Norris of Lebanon, Va.; Dickie Norris and wife Jennifer of Bristol, Tenn.; Gary Lynn Brown of Abingdon, Va.; Jerry Kim Brown and wife Kim of Chesterfield, Va.; and Charlie William Brown, Jr. of the home; three half-sisters, Rosella Mitchell, Louise Grandstone, and Wanda Mahala; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, cousins.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Tommy Wilson and Bro. Bob Smallwood officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park where Earl C. Cantor, Don Otey, David Rowe, Justin Rowe, Adam Winters, and Robert Winters will serve as pallbearers. Tammy Reece will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2017, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to defer the cost of final expenses.
