Doris Jean Horn, 62, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Doris was born on October 27, 1947 to the late Cline and Oma Edwards Mullins. She had lived in Washington County, VA for over 30 years and was a devoted member of Denton Valley Baptist Church. She will be missed by all that knew her.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Pringle and Peggy Parris.
Survivors include her husband James H. Horn; one daughter Monica Reynolds and her husband, Joseph of Glade Spring; two brothers, Bill Mullins and his wife Stephanie of Glade Spring, and Garry Mullins of Meadowview, VA; two sisters, Katie Jones of Glade Spring and Nancy Keen and her husband James of Glade Spring; several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog Cocoa.
The funeral will be held on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Tim Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be the men of Denton Valley Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Denton Valley Baptist Church, c/o Phil Smith, 24102 Cox Mill Rd., Abingdon, VA 24211 or American Diabetes Association, PO Box 2680, N. Canton, OH 44720.
