Doris Marie Norris

Doris Marie Norris, age 81, of Glade Spring, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Grace Healthcare. She was born to the late Bud Compton and Maggie Helton Compton on July 12, 1934.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Denton Red Norris; and two brothers, Glen and Harold Compton.
Doris is survived by her son, Tim Norris and wife Tammy of Glade Spring, Va.; sister, Catherine Jessee and husband Gene of Ind.; sister-in-law, Syble Compton of Ocala, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Caleb and Josh Norris both of Glade Spring, Va.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Bro. Caleb Norris officiating. Josh Norris will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 7th at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Grace Healthcare and Caris Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, Ill. 60601.
