Doris Schieck Bailey

Meadowview, VA- Doris Schieck Bailey, age 95, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 at her daughter’s home. She was born the fifth child of the late Theodore Schieck and Myra Firestone Schieck on July 8, 1919 in Wainwright, British Columbia, Canada. In addition to her parents, Doris was also preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Henry Bailey; son, Stanley Ross Bailey; daughter, Myra Wyatt; and seven siblings. Doris is survived by two daughters, Madeline Card and husband Randy of Meadowview, VA and Marymae Bailey of the home and life-long friend, Larry Tomlinson; brother, Stanley Schieck and wife Margrit of Alberta, Canada; sister, Marjorie Schneider of British Columbia, Canada; son-in-law, Joe Wyatt and wife Travis of Glade Spring, VA; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Lewis, Adam Wyatt, Madeline Keen, Doug Bowen, Michelle Sullivan, Maggie Addington, Mason Bowen; eight great grandchildren, Preston Lewis, Sydney Lewis, Abigail Keen, Bailey Keen, Zachary Bowen, Emily Bowen, Troy Sullivan, and Colby Sullivan; special niece, Sue Rector; and numerous additional nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Bobby Dunn officiating. Visitation with the family will be held 3-4p.m. just prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to First Church of God Chilhowie, Missions Fund, P.O. Box 198, Chilhowie, VA 24319, in Mrs. Bailey’s name.
