Dorothy Jereleen Woods

Bristol, VA – Dorothy Jereleen Woods, age 81, passed on Friday, July 15, 2022. Jereleen was a lifelong resident of Washington County and was a long-time member of Bell Meadows Baptist Church where she attended faithfully as long as she was able.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gladys Henderson Woods; sister, Lillian Mitchell; and five brothers, Raymond, Kenneth, Jim, Samuel, and Lewis Woods.

Jereleen is survived by two sisters, Shirley Nidiffer and Wilma Gobble, both of Bristol, VA; several nieces and nephews who she loved like her own children; several cousins; many close friends, Jessie Fleenor, Robert Vance, E.W., Debbie, Nancy, Dot, Maria, Barbara, Paula, Charlene, Christine, Debbie, and her loving church family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2022, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Bro. Gary Harless and Bro. Dewey Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Kevin Woods, Dustin Woods, Kayle Woods, Travis Woods, Randy Woods, Joey Gobble, Eugene Gobble, and Jeff Widener serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Caris Hospice; Dr. Chris Allen; Brittany Vestal; Nurse Practitioner Robin; Beth Stout; and to all of Jereleen’s nieces, nephews, and friends who were so good about calling her, bringing food, and visiting her. Friends may call on the family at any time at the home of Shirley Nidiffer and Wilma Gobble.
