Dorothy Lee Thomas, 75, of Williamsburg, VA passed away on March 31, 2011, with her family by her side. A former resident of Meadowview, Va.,
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas; her parents; and her sister, Jenny.
Above all she loved spending time with her family. She particularly enjoyed writing, and was very fond of dolls, angels, and flowers.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Webb and her husband, Earl, of Williamsburg and Dianne Thomas, of Abingdon, Va.; five grandchildren, Kristy Lewis, Randy Webb, and Jeff, Brenda, and Chris Spiva; as well as five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Fred Holbrook, Allen Holbrook, Luther Holbrook, Sam Holbrook, and Mary Collins, all of Abingdon.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 4, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Farris Funeral Home, 427 East Main St., Abingdon. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment at Baptist Cemetery, Glade Springs, Va.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Department, 440 North Boundary St., Williamsburg, VA 23185.
