Douglas Randy "DJ" Jamerson, Jr.

Douglas Randy "DJ" Jamerson, Jr., age 36, of Glade Spring, Va., passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at his home. He was born to Douglas Randy Jamerson, Sr. and Tammy Danielle O'Shields Jamerson in Greenville, S.C.
He was a graduate of the Virginia High School Class of 2003 where he lettered in basketball. DJ also played community league baseball where his team was once Virginia State Champions. He was currently an employee of Royal Building Products and attended online worship services at First Christian Church in Abingdon, Va.
DJ was preceded in death by an infant brother, Ryan Jamerson; and his maternal grandparents, Royce and Virgie Hand and Daniel O'Shields and Peggy Sims.
He is survived by his parents, Douglas "Randy" Jamerson, Sr. of Dacusville, S.C.; mother, Tammy Danielle Arington and husband, Keith of the home; brother, Brandon Tripp Arington of South Carolina; paternal grandparents, Doug and Mary Jamerson of Greenville, S.C.; and special grandmother, Ruth Ann Arington of Glade Spring.
DJ was a sports fanatic, especially for college football, with the Clemson Tigers being his all-time favorite. At home he always liked relaxing with his 16-year-old pug, Buddy, while reading a good James Patterson book. His favorite things to do in his free time were play pick-up basketball and share stories with his brother. The life of any party, DJ loved making people laugh with funny jokes and his signature dance moves. He enjoyed keeping in touch with all his friends, of which there were many. Preferring to call instead of text, if he did not get an answer, you were guaranteed to receive a voicemail that put a smile on your face.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Dave Cross officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
