Edna Lewis Lowe

Abingdon, VA  

Edna Lewis Lowe, age 84, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong native of Washington County, VA and spent her working years making a home for her family. Edna was of the Baptist Faith. When time permitted, she enjoyed going to auctions with family members and listening to bluegrass music concerts. 

Edna was preceded in death by her husband Pete Lowe; parents John Henry and Pearlie Ann Blackwell; and infant granddaughter Jodie Foster.

She is survived by her daughters Lisa Bamman and husband Dean of Abingdon and Sheila Morgan of Afton, TN; sons Eddie Lowe and wife Lisa of Meadowview, VA and Roger Blackwell and wife Debbie of Damascus, VA; sisters Emma Hennegar of Abingdon and Eliza Necessary of Bristol, TN; grandchildren James Lowe, Jeffrey Robinson, Chris Robinson, Greg Foster, Matthew Foster, Cody Foster, and Brandon Foster; step grandchildren Lisa Bailey, Marvin Bailey, Melissa Bailey; great grandchildren McKenzie Robinson, McKayla Robinson, Alyssa Robinson, Karsen Robinson, Kimber Willis, Lilly Foster, and Riley Foster. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Pastors David Griffin and Wayne Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Methodist Church Cemetery. Casket bearers will be selected from family and friends.  

The family would like to offer heart-felt thanks to the doctors and staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital and Ballad Hospice for the love and care that was shown to Edna during her illness.
