Edward Wayne Spence, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012. Mr. Spence was born in the Wytheville area and has lived in the Glade Spring community for the past twenty years. He is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Ruby Hardin Spence; wife Ruth Gwinn Spence; brother Bobby Spence; and sister Patsy Spence.
He is survived by one daughter, Sharon (Roy) Lowry of Saltville, VA; two brothers, Billy Spence and David (Margie) Spence, both of Wytheville, VA; one sister, Katherine (A.M.) Owens of Bristol, VA; granddaughter, Amanda Spurlock of Marion, VA; great-grandchildren, Levi Garrett Spurlock and Ciera Spurlock; and nephew, Eric Spence.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2012, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Those wishing to express sympathy online may do so by visiting www.farrisfuneralservice.com and signing the online guest register.
A private committal will be held at a later date.
