Elmer Harris passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clark Thompson Harris and Tina Burleson Harris and brothers, Robert, Wiley and Edsel and sister, Gertrude Lowe.
He was born on March 1, 1919 and was a life-long resident of Jonesboro, TN. Elmer is survived by his wife, Hazel Orfield Harris, of over 40 years.
During his life he was the proprietor of several businesses in the Jonesboro area. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor and served in the Pacific during World War II where he was a decorated soldier.
Viewing and family visitation will be on Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 5 to 6:30 pm at Farris Funeral Service. The burial and graveside services will be held at Knollkreg Memorial Park Cemetery at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 8, 2010 with Rev. John Price officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard.
